Studio under Eye Concealer and Highlighter

ELF’s Studio Under eye Concealer and Highlighter is your typical affordable concealer. I got this for Php 130.00 ($3.oo form the ELF website) at the department store.  CHEAP, yes. The quality is quite satisfactory. This isn’t my type of concealer but this isn’t that bad either. The highlighter is quite ok too although it finishes up like a white stain if not blended and used properly. As for the highlighting effect, it does work somehow but don’t expect a perfect finish from a cheap deal. Both’s consistency is quite watery that you have to fan it up to dry and the concealing part is not that long lasting.

I don’t use it often but this one can work wonders for emergency purposes (for the legs, arms, etc) and since i got the Fair shade, it actually blends well to the lighter parts of my skin. I think this could be a good shadow primer too.

I’d give this product a rating of 2/5.

Haha! Atlast! I got another Bad Gal Mascara! *tears*

Another $19.00 of addictive black formula for every pair of strong feline eyes.

Gotta order in again before this one runs out. See my previous posts for a rerview on this product! 🙂

From Sephora ION Sg: I already took it off the box

Who loves Benefit?! Meeee-ow!

xoxo

I got one in mini size from another Sephora freebie. It’s actually pretty nice. The applicator isn’t bad, though I’m not really a fan of it. It’s got this medium sized bristles which is enough to reach and put product on your lashes. It’s not my favorite mascara but this one is actually pretty okay. It definitely isn’t clumpy at all. You won’t see any traces of thick mascara applied, even if you’ve already used a generous amount. The lashes still looks natural, atleast for me.

Now this was my “Make up product” for the year 2010. It was last year when I discovered this and I totally fell in love with it! I got it in early 2010 but during that time, I was just using the make up basics since I’m still in college and everyone knows, make up application doesn’t have a place in my hectic busy schedule.  It was only after my last semester in college that I started using this one. And in an instant, I GOT HOOKED! Like crazy! I have 1 in stock and 2 more incoming from Sephora SG and US (courtesy of my friend). See, crazy crazy in love.

High Beam

Benefit High Beam is the final ingridient to my everyday fresh make up look. It makes my fair skin look more porcelain-y. And I could be a digicam addict sometimes and I can really see how the Benefit High Beam makes my skin look radiant.  I guess hence the name “high beam”? hehe

Back

So..one bottle costs $24.00 (or Php 1056). And it comes in a cute glass nail polish-like bottle, with an applicator attached to the cap. I don’t use the applicator for hygienic purpose, instead I take some of the product and place it in a mixing palette before I use a brush. I have a specific brush solely for high beam use. I really don’t like it when my brushes share a product, especially when I use it often.

Bottle Cap and Applicator

The product looks like a slightly metallic light pink in liquid form. (like a nail polish actually) But when you use it on your face, it blends easily on your skin/ foundation leaving a slightly-dewy-in a veyr good way-radiant glow on your complexion.  Like I said before, It really makes my skin looks like porcelain. =)

I’ll swatch it next time! 🙂

This is practically used as a highlighter. Put it on your cheekbones, brow bone, or even mix it with your foundation to add up a radiant finish. Also this is my first ever BENEFIT make up so it really has this special place in my heart (and in my dresser and on my stash drawer too! hehe!) This deserves a rating of 4/5 from me!

It’s just the perfect every day highlighter! 🙂

“A supermodel in a bottle?! I couldn’t agree more! :p”

I will be posting the foundations that I am currently using, hopefully soon!

A masterpiece starts with a a well primed canvas which is why choosing a foundation for make up is essential.

Girls don’t want their faces to look shiny and oily nor too dry and cakey for a photo up! Every skin type has its own needs and a suitable product should be considered. Some have oily skins, dry ones or even a combination. So picking up a foundation is something one should carefully do. You have to consider a lot of things like “Do I need sheer, medium or full coverage?” or “Should I use a powder or liquid foundation” and most of all “Which shade fits my skin tone”?

So you see, buying a foundation isn’t just a trip to a mall. It isn’t buying the shade you like from your favorite brand and most of all, it isn’t just buying one that fits your budget! Everyone should know the concept of “Value and Cost.” An expensive, let alone an overpriced foundation, doesn’t it make it a better one for your skin. But of course, you shouldn’t also sacrifice your skin for cheap ones. You should find a product that will suit you. Take note. Everyone and every skin has different needs.

So, for  now I’ll be saying in advance that I’ll be sharing to you my experiences in using the following  foundations: The Body Shop All in 1 Base Foundation, Mac Studio Fix Powder and  Foundation, Revlon Photo Ready Foundation, Cinema Secrets Foundation, The Face Shop 2in1 Powder Foundation and Bare Escentuals Mineral Foundation! =)

Here’s a sneak peak on some of my foundations! ^__^

Stay tuned! And don’t miss out! ^^

This lip gloss was bought by my little sister from Watsons. She was adamant on getting a hold of this little lip gloss which made curious and eventually tried it out. It wasn’t really that bad, in fact, it’s flavor was great. It’s got this watermelon scent which makes it likeable. The glossiness and the sheer pink color of this product is quite alright too. It’s not sticky or too wet, which works for me, atleast.

LIP ICE Watermelon Gloss

One tube of Lip Ice Gloss is Php 125.00 only. Yep, it’s a cheap stuff which makes it much much worth it. =)

I am not a lipgloss fan, but I think this is a pretty great one!

Maybe you can try it? =)

This is my very first ETUDE HOUSE cosmetic. I was looking for a high endurance eyeliner when I came across this one. I had to try out the brand itself anyway, so I thought I’d start with this one.

Code B Strong Eyes Cream Liner

One pot is priced at around Php 395.00 – 450.00 (i forgot, but I’m sure it’s within that price range.) I think Etude has 3 shades for this product (Black and Browns – light and dark.) I got one in Dark Brown #3, because such shade softens my eyes and whole look, unlike Black ones (which tends to be too Black and fake-looking.)

#3 Dark Brown

It is packaged in a small black shiny tall box with the name “Code B” in it. Probably the name of the collection the product is under (which is actually great!) The product is in a small glass-like pot container and you’d get a free applicator brush with it. (thin and just right for eyeliner application.)

As for the formula of  the “Code B Strong Eyes Cream Liner,” I’d say it’s a tolerable quality. It sure is water and sweat proof! I use this when I go swimming and it wouldn’t smear off. Another industrial-strength eye product we got here. Rubbing it off without a make-up remover would be futile.

The only down-side, at least for me, is that it dries up fast when your still on the process of applying and it hardens the brush applicator. Which is why I take out half a pea size from the pot and use a  mixing palette so the whole pot won’t dry out.

Sorry for the blurred image

If you want a strong eyeliner that can endure all elements, you may want to try out this one. Not bad for a cheap Korean brand.

A rating of 2.8/5 for this one! =)

xoxo!

This one’s my current favorite eyebrow groomer 🙂

I actually don’t use it for my lashes since I’m more comfortable with black mascaras. I chose to use brown shades for my eyebrows since mine are thick and too black already. So to soften my look, I use products with the brown shade.

One bottle is priced at Php 300-400. (forgotttt) Plus, it doesn’t dry up in the bottle. You can actually use the  entire product for a long time until the bottle literally gets empty. Cheap? Yep yep!

One thing I like about Maybelline’s Volum’ Express Mascara in Brown, is that it is actually water-proof, sweat-proof, smudge-proof, salt-water-proof (yes, I’ve tried it on the beach) and all the “proof” words that can describe its strong enduring-staying power. (Forgive my redundancies, but this really is an industrial strength mascara and I cannot think of any words to describe its awesomeness!) And to think that I use it on my thick eyebrows. It sure does the job done! It’s like a spray-net for the brows hehe.

Slightly Curved Brush

The color is the typical brown color. For some skin tones, the color brown may look fake on them. But since my brows are all black, it doesn’t make much difference. It just grooms.

Maybelline Volum' Express on my Eyebrows

I’ve tried using it for my lashes, though, but I didn’t really like the result. Nothing seems to change (improve) when I use it on my lashes. Or maybe my standards for lashes are too much I guess… Anyway, for my lashes, NOT! But for my brows, A TOTAL YES. 🙂

To tell you the truth, I never liked the brand Maybelline, until I found this extra-strong mascara hehehe.

If you haven’t read my previous blogs about my obsessive-compulsive eyebrow grooming, then may this enlighten you to why I am such an eyebrow groomer. A clear mascara for my long thick eyebrows.

I have lots of eyebrow products already (some are waiting in a long queue to be blogged) that’s why I’m not choosy when it comes to clear and plain ones. I used “In2it’s” clear mascara, before, whenever my  brows are freshly trimmed for a neat eyebrow look, but then changed to Nichido when I saw that they offer theirs in a much bigger and cheaper bottle. The formula is just like any other clear mascara brand (except for MACs). So basically, I only use this one for my brows.

Clear Mascara

One bottle is priced at around Php 90.oo only. See, its cheap! 🙂

Its applicator Brush is full and big, which is almost quite the same as the Benefit Bad Gal Mascara’s brush.

This mascara gives you lashes a shimmering effect every time you flutter your eyelashes. I got this one 3 years ago and I only got to use it 4 times, I think. it actually pretty 🙂

SKIN FOOD Sparkle Glitter Mascara

I got this one from SKIN FOOD.  Costs only for Php 400-500  i think… I really didn’t have any plans on getting a shimmery mascara but when I saw it, it’s just too pretty to be left behind in a stoic display, so i got it hehe. Plus, the sales lady worked her sales-talk on me. Gahd.

Little Bristles

It comes in a medium sized bottle and a very cute applicator wand. It bristles are a little small but big enough to cover you lasher with sparkly glitters.

Pretty dazzling huh? 🙂
