All Glammed Up with Kat . . .

Posts Tagged ‘MAC

I made swatches 2 months ago and forgot to load these up until tonight since I still couldn’t sleep. So here goes a swatch of four lipsticks for comparison.

SWATCHES 🙂

Pink Nouveau, Barbie Pink as always.

Milan Mode looks light here probably due to the flash. But its actually a deeper pink color.

See how dry Ruby Woo is. The application is really hard though…

Joyeous, gorgeous as always.

I’ll swatch and make reviews of the other shades next time. I never thought swatch-ing could be such a lucrative task! :p

Cheers for Lip Collections! :0

MAC’s Ruby Woo Matte lipstick is a bluish red matte. It’s definitely a must buy for those who wish to own a striking-red-devilish lips!  As usual it has the signature MAC scent.

MAC RUBY WOO MATTE LIPSTICK

Everyone knows that one MAC bullet lipstick costs $14.50 (Php 638.00) in the US. Here in the Philippines you can get a regular shade in all MAC stores for Php 950. But what most might not know is that it can actually be purchased from Duty Free for only Php700-ish. (So girls! What are you waiting for? Join me as I splurge on these babies :p)

Again as usual, everyone, including me loves the creamy and long wearing formula of all MAC Lipsticks. Easy to put on. Like most say, it’s definitely worth the price. Just don’t pick out a color that would look terrible on you! :p On the other hand, this specific matte shade is just a little bit more dry compared to the regular kinds.

Ok so anyway, not  much can be said to describe the wonderful unique color of a MAC bullet lipstick so here goes the swatch 🙂

MAC Ruby Woo Matte

I really like how I was able to shape-up my lips with this vividly-opaque-red matte! Two words: FULL LIPS! :p

For me, the application for this specific shade  requires precision and patience! haha! It’s matte formula tends to be dry when applied on bare lips. But you’d be really amazed on how long it stays on your lips even after a long day of eating! (Yes! tried and tested – even with ramen! hehe)

As you can see, it gives out a powerful red color although it tends to look a bit dry. Which is why I tried it on with a plain lipgloss. I think I used the Pout Plump Gloss on this on-lip swatch. Look how scary-red my lips were! It actually reminded me of the evil antagonist from the movie 101 Dalmatians! Cruela DeVil! :))

SCARY RED! Imagine a pair of vampire teeth behind those alluring redness! Yikes!

Go to your nearest MAC store and try a few shades! 😉

MAC’s Pink Nouveau Satin lipstick is a bright pink or rather a BARBIE PINK shade. Wear this shade whenever you feel like being playful. Its gorgeous pink opaque color will surely bring out the Barbie in you!As usual it has the signature MAC scent.

MAC’s Milan Mode Lustre lipstick is a sheer deep pink with multidimensional pearl (Mac Website), that is actually a pretty color if you’re aiming for a glam girly look. I think this shade favors those fair skin ladies like me :p As usual it has the signature MAC scent.

Its actually a deeper pink version of Chanel’s Joyeous Rouge Allure Lipstick… I think..

I’ve had my breakout experiences with some of MAC face products before. Thankfully, this Blot Pressed Powder didn’t share the same harsh effect on my skin. It’s actually a good powder for everyday use. It doesn’t provide any coverage (as if i need one anyway :p) since its just a pressed powder for blotting, translucent in a way. With an oily chin like mine, this powder is a good savior =D

MAC BLOT POWDER PRESSED

I got mine in Light shade. Scent-free. This sleek powder comes with a powder puff in MAC’s signature sleek compact style. (though I prefer using a kabuki brush) The powder is light-weight on my skin and smooths out on my face especially when it sets.

MAC BLOT PRESSED in LIGHT with Puff

Just a pop of cheektint and a buffed Blot Powder on your face are the only things that you need for a fresh look. Its actually my Sunday morning look. (Yes, there’s an afternoon and evening look as well hihi)

ALWAYS SIGNIFICANTLY CHEAPER AT DF! =)

So one compact cost Php 1300.00 in all MAC stores her in the Philippines. I got mine at Duty Free for only $23 (Php 1000). For a MAC-haul Duty Free is always my first stop 🙂

Id give this a rating of 3.5/5.

I will be posting the foundations that I am currently using, hopefully soon!

A masterpiece starts with a a well primed canvas which is why choosing a foundation for make up is essential.

Girls don’t want their faces to look shiny and oily nor too dry and cakey for a photo up! Every skin type has its own needs and a suitable product should be considered. Some have oily skins, dry ones or even a combination. So picking up a foundation is something one should carefully do. You have to consider a lot of things like “Do I need sheer, medium or full coverage?” or “Should I use a powder or liquid foundation” and most of all “Which shade fits my skin tone”?

So you see, buying a foundation isn’t just a trip to a mall. It isn’t buying the shade you like from your favorite brand and most of all, it isn’t just buying one that fits your budget! Everyone should know the concept of “Value and Cost.” An expensive, let alone an overpriced foundation, doesn’t it make it a better one for your skin. But of course, you shouldn’t also sacrifice your skin for cheap ones. You should find a product that will suit you. Take note. Everyone and every skin has different needs.

So, for  now I’ll be saying in advance that I’ll be sharing to you my experiences in using the following  foundations: The Body Shop All in 1 Base Foundation, Mac Studio Fix Powder and  Foundation, Revlon Photo Ready Foundation, Cinema Secrets Foundation, The Face Shop 2in1 Powder Foundation and Bare Escentuals Mineral Foundation! =)

Here’s a sneak peak on some of my foundations! ^__^

Revlon Photo Ready, The Body Shop Powder Foundation, Mac Studio Fix Powder and Foundations

Stay tuned! And don’t miss out! ^^

Of all the make-up essentials, bronzers are what I don’t like the most. I’m not really a fan of these bronzing products. Why? because it makes me look “sunog!” (sun-burned in a very bad way) lol.

That is why I really have no idea why I have one in my dresser hehehe

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in SUNNY BY NATURE

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in SUNNY BY NATURE. It’s got its dome shaped powder in MAC’s signature black plastic compact design.  This shade’s no longer in the circulation since MAC has discontinued manufacturing this specific shade. But I still can’t say that I’m glad to have this one (not really a fan of bronzerrrr)

It can be used as a blush or highlighter or  simply a bronzer if you want to get a tanned glowy look. Some say its natural-looking but for me it a too shiny and shimmery. Probably great on other’s skin tones but definitely not for me.

A luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish. Smoothes on: adds buffed-up highlights to cheeks, or an overall ultra-deluxe polish to the face. (www.maccosmetics.com)

Who loves MAC? We do! 🙂
